Born in the tiny southern community of Red Bay, Alabama, I joined the U.S. Air Force at the age of twenty, proudly serving my country for the next eight years.      During that time, I was stationed in three U.S. States (Ohio, Arkansas and Texas) and also spent two separate tours overseas in South Korea.  Since then, I've worked as a police records clerk (Abilene Police Department, Abilene, Texas), Correctional Officer (State of Texas), warehouse inventory clerk (Nashville, Tennessee) and pest control technician (again, Nashville) before landing my current gig as a police records clerk for the city of Hendersonville.   My wonderful wife Liza hails from the city of General Santos in the southern Philippines.  

 

As a writer, I was greatly influenced by the works of Stephen King (no shock there, right?), as well as other genre greats such as Robert R. McCammon, Dean Koontz, Ramsey Campbell, Thomas Harris and Robert Bloch. Rod Serling's 'TWILIGHT ZONE' and 'NIGHT GALLERY' programs helped shape my imagination for the fantastic at an early age, as did the comic book worlds created by Stan Lee and Marvel comics(CAPTAIN AMERICA, X-MEN, DAREDEVIL, IRON MAN, THE FANTASTIC FOUR, THE AVENGERS, THE INCREDIBLE HULK). Additionally, I cannot ignore the influence of such horror film classics as John Carpenter's 1982 remake of'THE THING', as well as George A. Romero's 'DEAD' films.
